Kill Devil Navy Style Blended is a blend of molasses rums from the Caribbean. A leading Glasgow-based Scotch whisky specialist, Hunter Laing selects, matures and bottles rum casks from around the world under the Kill Devil brand.
More precisely, it's a marriage of rums from Guyana and Jamaica, aged in American white oak barrels. The rum was reduced and bottled in Scotland, without coloring or cold filtration.
This “Navy Strenght” bottling was made in homage to the navigators of the Royal British Navy, who at the time received a daily ration of alcohol. From 57°, if the rum were inadvertently poured onto gunpowder, it could still catch fire.
