Benefiting from the centuries-old know-how of this major Jamaican distillery, Appleton 8 ans is a very old rum that has been distilled in iron stills. The cuvée then benefits from long aging in oak casks, impregnated with a rich aromatic palette thanks to the tropical Caribbean climate.
Tasting notes
Appleton Estate Reserve 8 ans' color is reminiscent of topaz or honey, with golden highlights.
On the nose, the aromatic bouquet is marked by the scent of brown sugar. It also brings aromas of orange zest, vanilla and nutmeg. There's a delicate hint of hazelnut.
On the palate, generosity manifests itself in an unctuous, even honeyed texture, along with aromas of caramel and sugarcane.
The lingering finish is spicy, but also biscuity.
