Knockando 21 ans is a single malt Scotch whisky from the Speyside region. It is a blend of whiskies aged in different types of casks. The distillery has used old sherry casks, as well as first and second fill bourbon casks. The youngest whisky in the blend is 21 years old, giving this cuvée a remarkable age/price ratio.
Florian's tasting notes
The color is golden. Tears are thick, few and slow.
On the nose, it's spicy and woody, subtly fruity (pear can be distinguished). A hint of raisins and cocoa. Simple and straightforward.
On the palate, the attack is soft, with the fruit and roundness of cake dough, caramel, raisin and sweet licorice.
The moderately long finish reveals aniseed licorice.
