La Maison du Rhum Paraguay Batch #5 2008 is a honey cane rum produced by the highly reputed Castilla distillery, founded in Paraguay in 1993 by the Diaz family. This distillery owns the Fortin rum brand. Sensitive to ecological issues, it produces rums using a 100% organic production process. The sugar cane is grown untreated and always harvested by hand.
The rum was distilled in 2008 in an all-copper column. It was then placed in ex-bourbon oak casks, before finishing in pedro ximénez and brandy casks. It was not released until 2022, when 7071 bottles were bottled.
This new cuvée completes the list of exceptional bottlings from La Maison du Rhum.
