La Mauny 1749 40°: Description and customer reviews

La Mauny 1749 is a fine introduction to the tasting of Martinique's agricultural rum.
This cuvée is named after the year the distillery was founded. It benefits from an interesting aromatic richness thanks to the 18 months it spent in oak barrels.

Mauny 1749 is ideal as an aperitif, on the rocks or prepared as a ti-punch.

Laurent's tasting notes

Its dress is gold.

On the nose, this is definitely an agricultural wine. It's discreet, but gives off vegetal aromas, a certain greenness and hints of spice. There's a hint of apple and wood in the background.

On the palate, the attack is supple and then drier. Wood and caramel dominate.

The finish is dry and fairly long. Sweet spices, woodiness (again) and a hint of tobacco finish the tasting.

  1. Louison

A rum that smells of fresh cane, but there's a very fresh side mixed with spices, madagascar pepper, it's a really original taste!
