Labourdonnais Vanilla is an agricultural rum produced by the Labourdonnais distillery in Mauritius. Vanilla grown on the estate is macerated in this pure cane juice rum.
Nico's tasting notes
The nose opens with a very fruity rum, like a syrup of red or exotic fruits (passion fruit, mango). The citrus fruits are very candied, but this doesn't prevent them from adding freshness. For the moment, they keep the sweetness of vanilla at bay. Aeration finally brings out the radiant, bright vanilla.
The palate is above all spicy, although the sugar tempers its fiery ardor. Fruit is cooked and melted into syrup, while vanilla finally caresses the taste buds with its characteristic, complex, softly woody flavors.
