Maker's Mark is a Kentucky bourbon named after the distillery that produces it. Its particularity comes from the mash bill: rye has been replaced by red winter wheat. This variety of wheat plays an important role in the aroma of this bourbon, even though it only accounts for 16% of the mash. It is combined with local corn, which accounts for 70% of the recipe, and is rounded out by 14% malted barley.
Maker's Mark bourbon is double-distilled in traditional copper stills, then aged for 6-7 years in the distillery's own cellars.
