The Tsunuki distillery opened in 2016 transports some of its barrels to a cellar built the same year on the island of Yakushima.
According to a local proverb, this island enjoys 35 days of rain per month. The permanent humidity, combined with temperatures that fluctuate between 5 and 35 °C, imposes an angels' share that is around 9% per year.
This Japanese whisky distilled in Tsunuki was aged on March 23, 2020 in Yakushima. Its aging in the “Sherry Hogshead” n°2334 ended on May 15, 2024. Bottling without chill filtration and without reduction gave birth to 241 bottles.
