Monymusk classic gold is a molasses rum produced and bottled by National Rums of Jamaica Limited.
This cuvée is a blend of rums produced by the Long Pond and Clarendon distilleries. Some were distilled in double retort pot stills, others in columns.
They have been selected, blended and aged for a minimum of 5 years in re-burned American oak barrels.
Yoann's tasting notes
Aromas of molasses and cooked cane sugar syrup mark the first nose of this rum. A freshly prepared vanilla caramel hits our nostrils with all its smoothness. The pastry register becomes even more precise with the arrival of tropical fruits, a tart fresh out of the oven strikes with its presence. Deliciousness and comfort, that is the promise made by this rum when we breathe it.
The palate is fluid and soft. The rum flows over the tongue with ease. The exotic fruits find their place without fuss. The deployment of this fruity army is done gently, without overflowing. The pastry side of the nose returns in another form. Vanilla and caramel are accompanied by almond.
This rum retains its sweetness throughout the finish which remains in a pastry register.
