The NAUD family continues its rum adventure in Venezuela, partnering with Destilería Sofa , an iconic hacienda in the country. Together, they combine their expertise in two essential skills: distillation and aging.
In the heart of particularly fertile lands near Caracas , sugarcane is harvested between November and February. After fermentation, the molasses – nicknamed Black Gold for its richness – is column-distilled to create a rum with a generous aromatic profile.
The local climate, hot and humid during the day and cooler and drier at night, offers ideal conditions for aging in ex-bourbon barrels . To further enhance its aromas, this 12-year-old Ron Venezuela finishes its maturation for nearly 6 months in French oak barrels , within the humid cellars of Maison NAUD.
