Old Brothers MLC is a very old Jamaican rum from the Clarendon distillery. This Monymusk Light Continental is the distillery's only high ester. This range of rums contains over 500 g/hlap in esters at the time of distillation.
This single cask was distilled in 2001 after 2 weeks of fermentation, using indigenous yeasts. After leaving its typically Caribbean double-twisted pot-still, it was placed in bourbon casks. 18 years later, it has lost 72% of its angels' share, in a tropical climate. It was lightly reduced with spring water over a period of 5 and a half months.
It contains 1409 g/hlap of volatile substances, 504 of which are esters. Unchill-filtered and without added color, 396 bottles were bottled.
