This Plantation Rum 2018 VSOR (Very Special Old Rum) is a Guatemalan rum. It was distilled by the Destiladora de Alcoholes y Rones company.
This cuvée is part of Plantation's 2022 Single Casks collection.
Distillation took place in a multi-column alembic after fermentation of the molasses. This lasted 3 days.
The rum was aged on site in a bourbon barrel for 2 years. It was then repatriated to France to spend a further year at Château de Bonbonnet in Ferrand cognac casks.
As is customary at Plantation, this cuvée benefited from a 4-month finish in a barrel containing a red Pineau des Charentes.
