Plymouth Gin Navy Strength 57°: Description and customer reviews

Plymouth Gin Navy Strength is a gin with a unique geographical indication: Plymouth Gin. Distilled by batch in copper stills, it was one of the first dry gins. Its high proof comes from the tradition of the British Navy. Indeed, to be allowed on board, it had to be at least 57%, so that gunpowder could explode even if it mixed with the alcohol.

The recipe is also traditional, featuring juniper berries, coriander seeds, orange and lemon peel, angelica and iris roots, and green cardamom.
