Privateer Navy Yard is a rum straight from the USA, and more specifically from Massachusetts. Its name is inspired by the American shipyard in Boston, which is still home to the oldest warship in the world, and where the famous Privateers operated.
Navy Yard is a double-distilled molasses rum, first pot-stilled, then column-distilled. The molasses is Grade A and comes from a single farm in Guatemala.
Aging takes place in a 53-gallon (200-liter) new American oak barrel.
After a minimum ageing period of 2 years, Navy Yard is bottled without reduction, cask by cask, as a single cask.
Here the barrel bottled at 54.6° bears the number 531.
