Ron Colon Coffee Infused 55.5° is the “High Proof” version of Ron Colon. It is a blend of rums from El Salvador and Jamaica, the composition of which is as follows:
- 70% 6-year-old rum from El Salvador (Licorera Cihuatán)
- 15% Jamaican white rums (Worthy Park, Hampden and Clarendon)
- 15% 3-year-old Jamaican rum (Worthy Park)
The rum is then infused for 48 hours with whole coffee beans, delivering complexity, intensity and richness. You can also find a much sweeter 81-proof version.
Nico's tasting notes
The nose plays with our senses, oscillating between a rather aromatic rum with an almost funky base, and a sweeter, toasted universe embodied by coffee. It's the roasting that wins out over time, coaxing us with notes of caramel, nuts and woody rum.
On the palate, the roasted coffee flavors are rich with sweet spices, cocoa, wood, tobacco and nuts. These flavors are supported by a perfectly balanced rum strength, also rich in exotic fruits and a certain tropical generosity.
"A very successful experience, with a fragrant, fruity coffee that doesn't miss out on the bitterness of a tight espresso..."
