Santa Teresa Linaje is a molasses rum bottled under the Venezuela Denomination of Origin. It is a blend of light rums distilled in columns and aged in bourbon casks.
It fits in perfectly with the style of the house, as its name, which means "lineage", indicates.
Nico's tasting notes
The nose is marked by a toasty woodiness, not hugely roasted, but quite toasty all the same. A small veil of solvent, a sign of concentration, hangs over the glass. The ethereal accents that soon crack the surface of the oak suggest a fairly light rum.
With aeration, the oak develops into aromas of caramelized nuts, vanilla and sweet spices. A hint of coffee adds dynamism and depth.
The palate is soft and well-balanced, and gives priority to rather spicy American oak. In addition to vanilla, blond tobacco and toasted coconut, there are some fuller-bodied spices, notably roasted.
The finish is drier, with well toasted oak offering toasty flavors.
"A rather light rum that gives pride of place to gently spicy oak..."
