Shack Rum Orange is based on a blend of traditional 5-year-old rums from Barbados, Guatemala and Trinidad.
This blend was made in an ex-xérès oak barrel to which vanilla, lemon andorange zests were added.
All ingredients are natural.
Nico's tasting notes
The nose is unsurprisingly very orangey, with a sweet, slightly vanilla-like orange syrup. The ambience is round and warm, with a slight freshness of zest. The rum is lightly spiced, and some finely spiced notes come through after a while, though the orange peel oil largely dominates.
The palate is very smooth, and in contrast to the nose, the rum plays on equal terms with the orange. Some ripe exotic fruit begins the journey on the palate, before giving way to freshly picked orange peel, followed by a lightly spiced orange syrup.
