Heading to the Island of La Palma for this 53rd selection of the Captain's Choice collection.
This rum from the Canary Islands was distilled in a still heated by a wood fire. As for the raw material, the Aldea distillery works with guarapo, a sugar cane syrup obtained from the fresh juice of locally grown canes.
After a long aging period of 20 years, the rum set sail. It left the volcanic island in the holds of the Tres Hombres cargo ship. The first aging in bourbon casks then continued in Pineau des Charentes and Oloroso Sherry casks. And this until bottling in the Netherlands.
