Wagemut PX-Cask is the founding and iconic bottle of Wagemut Produktion GmbH, established by Nicolas Kröger in Quickborn, Germany. It is also the very first rum launched under the Wagemut name, which has since become the benchmark for the range.
Distilled in Barbados at the Foursquare distillery from sugarcane molasses, this rum is aged for 10 years in ex-bourbon barrels in a tropical climate before being transferred to Germany for a final 3 months in humid Pedro Ximenez sherry casks in a continental climate. This double maturation process gives it a smooth and rich profile, marked by dark fruit, cocoa, vanilla, and a beautiful oaky structure, with no added sugar or coloring.
Bottled in small batches at 40.3% vol., Wagemut PX-Cask has established itself as an accessible reference for lovers of smooth and digestif rums.
