Wagemut PX-Cask is the flagship product of Wagemut Produktion GmbH, founded by Nicolas Kröger in Quickborn, Germany. This Cask Strength edition uses the original PX-Cask recipe, acclaimed by enthusiasts, but bottled this time without dilution, at its cask strength.
This rum is a blend of molasses distillates from Barbados (Foursquare and West Indies), distilled in both pot and column stills . It is first aged for 10 years in ex-bourbon barrels under Barbados' tropical climate, before being transferred to Wagemut's cellars in Germany for a final maturation of several months in freshly emptied Pedro Ximenez sherry casks under a continental climate. This final stage imparts to the rum its notes of raisins, dark fruit, and cask spices, all delivered with a unique and powerful intensity.
Born from a tasting directly from the cask at Wagemut Sommerfest 2025, this Cask Strength edition will only be released once a year, with each vintage featuring a new "powerhouse" on its label. This rum is hand-bottled at 58.7% ABV, with no added water or coloring.
