Wagemut XO is the flagship rum of Wagemut Produktion GmbH, founded by Nicolas Kröger, an independent bottler based in Quickborn, Germany. This rum is distilled at the renowned Foursquare Distillery in Barbados , a leading name in Caribbean rum, using Barbadian sugarcane molasses distilled in both pot stills and column stills .
The Wagemut PX Cask's big brother, the XO, is distinguished by a significantly longer aging process: 17 years in ex-Bourbon casks in the tropical climate of Barbados, followed by a finishing period of approximately one year in first-fill ex-Sherry Pedro Ximenez casks . It is bottled at 43.8% ABV, without chill filtration or added coloring.
This edition is limited to 1968 bottles.
