Wagemut Maduro was born from the collaboration between Nicolas Kröger , founder of Wagemut Produktion GmbH, and Reinhard Pohorec , cigar expert, with the ambition of creating the ideal companion to a Maduro cigar. Inspired by the Wagemut Special Edition 2021, this rum is based on an ancestral Trinidadian rum, distilled in a column still from sugarcane molasses, and aged for up to 20 years .
The maturation process is particularly unique: after initial aging in ex-Bourbon barrels, the rum is blended with a very old Pedro Ximenez Sherry, then finished in walnut casks, a wood rarely used in the world of rum. The final maturation takes place in very rare 30-year-old Palo Cortado Sherry casks, which impart remarkable depth and complexity to the blend.
Bottled at 47.6% vol., without cold filtration or added coloring, Wagemut Maduro is aimed at lovers of powerful and digestive rums, ideal in association with a full-bodied cigar, dark chocolate or roasted dried fruits.
