William Hinton 6 ans Whisky Cask comes to us from Madeira, a small Portuguese island lost in the Atlantic Ocean. This agricultural rum is a product of the land, made from sugar cane harvested on small plots of land in the country. It was distilled in the original "Engenho Hinton" column at the recently-opened Engenho Novo distillery.
After 6 years' aging in French oak, the rum was transferred to American whisky barrels (bourbon barrels). It was then joined by a 25-year-old rum, and 9 months were needed to marry and harmonize the two eaux-de-vie. This cuvée is a single cask bottled in 234 units.
