This rum bottled by Zaka was distilled in 2008 on the Caribbean island of Trinidad.
Bottled in 2021, it has a unique feature in the world. Indeed, this rum spent 6 months in a Japanese whiskey barrel after having aged 13 years in American ex-bourbon oak barrels. It is precisely this Japanese whiskey barrel that makes this cuvée special because it comes from the Karuizawa distillery.
This very famous distillery, which has been closed since 2000, was located in the Chūbu region of Japan. It produced single malt whiskies that it aged in sherry casks.
