This vintage from the Cyberpunk series has the code RH12. This is in fact the twelfth vintage of rum from the bottler Zéro Nine Spirits.
The latter demonstrates here his know-how in assembly. This vintage is composed of equal parts of a rum from Barbados and a rum from Trinidad.
Both distilled from molasses, these rums have the same vintage.
The whole was not reduced before bottling.
Nico's tasting notes
The nose first offers a little acidity mixed with a salty side, like brine and seaweed, so much so that we easily drift towards a Japanese universe where soy sauce and ginger flourish. Quickly, the bourbon barrel reasserts its rights and frankly asserts its typically vanilla and caramelized presence.
With aeration, the rum continues to show its deep and concentrated nature, resulting from a strong fermentation of molasses that draws on green olive, tapenade, anchovy, rosemary, yet all in moderation and delicacy. Rather than exploding in our faces, this character serves as a support for the other more gourmet aromas of beeswax, vanilla, grilled nuts and sweet exotic fruits.
The palate is first dominated by a heavy rum that one would think came straight from a Jamaican cellar. The very ripe exotic fruits are loaded with leather, resinous aromas, olive, with a slightly coppery and burnt aspect that gives them an imposing and serious side. It is this last facet that introduces a slightly calmer oak, but nevertheless very fleshy, filled with sweet spices.
The finish continues with this woodiness whose tannins have accents of resin and heather.
“This rum surprises and delights with its furiously exotic and tasty concentration…”
