Citadelle: the pioneer of French craft gin

Citadelle comes from the Ferrand cognac house. After much research, it was in 1996 that the first French artisanal gin was born. For Citadelle, Ferrand offers a blend of 19 aromatic herbs.

Citadelle has been a French gin staple for 20 years. The brand now offers a range of different approaches to gin.
There's the "Citadelle Original", the aged "Citadelle Réserve", the sweeter "Citadelle Old Tom" and the limited-edition, experimental "Citadelle Extrême".

Citadelle: experimentation and innovation

Château de Bonbonnet is the nerve center of Maison Ferrand. It's also where the juniper berries needed for gin are grown. In fact, in spring 2018, the first harvest is taking place. The aim, of course, is to relocate production of the plants featured in Citadelle.

Citadelle is also a place for experimentation. Ferrand has developed a technique known as progressive infusion. This is the only patented infusion method in the gin world.

Maturation is not forgotten. That's whyCitadelle Réservehas undergone a special aging process. Atypical essences such as acacia, mulberry, wild cherry and chestnut are used...
What's more, this gin is assembled in a patented egg-shaped container. Once again, this is a unique case in the world.

In conclusion, Citadelle is a gin that takes the basics of gin and reinvents them. Read less
