The blessed

As its name suggests, El Pasador de Oro is a French brand. The company behind these bottlings is Les Bienheureux. Founded by a Bordeaux wine merchant and an ex-Havana Club boss, the company has set itself the goal of offering accessible, honest rums with excellent value for money. It covers a broad spectrum of the rum world, with Coro Coro infused rum, the excellent Cachaça Parati, Embargo blends (white, amber, old) for the cocktail world, and our famous Pasador.

El Pasador de Oro rums

The stated aim of El Pasador de Oro rums is to offer a less sweet, more natural alternative to industry bestsellers Diplomatico and Zacapa. These rums are still very smooth, however, and will appeal to a wide range of consumers.

Distilled in Guatemala from cane honey (pure reduced sugarcane juice, i.e. lightly cooked to give it the consistency of syrup, which enables it to be preserved and thus distilled throughout the year), the rums making up these blends are aged entirely on site for 6 to 15 years for the XO and 10 to 18 years for the Gran Reserva. They are then shipped to Charente to mature in ex-Cognac casks for 6 months. This time of rest also allows them toharmonize and blend quietly before bottling. Read less
