The Auld Alliance

The Auld Alliance is the brainchild of spirits lover, Frenchman Emmanuel Dron. His passion first led him to write the whisky newsletter La Part des Anges, back in 1996. In 1997, he joined the team at La Maison du Whisky, which he left in 2010 to launch his own bottling brand in Singapore. His own whisky bar, The Auld Alliance, opened in 2011. Meanwhile, he has also written a reference book: "Collecting Scotch Whisky, an illustrated encyclopedia".

The Singapore bar has become a must, as have its exclusive bottlings, initially of whisky, but also of rum, cognac, armagnac and calvados. Some fine collaborations have been forged, notably with Hubert Corman and Grosperrin Cognacs. Other big names also took part in the adventure, such as Samaroli and Thompson Brothers. Read less
