Rum is enjoying a certain success on the British Isle, accounting for 10% of the UK spirits market, with white and spiced rum accounting for the majority of sales.

The main British rum brands are Alnwick (created in the early 1900s in the north-east of England), Black Tot and Old Sam (rum imported to London from Guyana in 1797). Other lesser-known brands include the new Matugga rums. Read less
