Brugal 1888 Reserva Familiar is a molasses rum from the Dominican Republic, produced by the distillery founded in 1888 in Puerto Plata. It is one of the best-selling brands in the Caribbean.
The molasses distilled comes from cane grown on the island. The rum is aged for 8 years in ex-bourbon American white oak casks, followed by a second maturation in Spanish sherry wine casks.
