Colección Visionaria Edición 03 is the third and final expression in the Visionaria collection, an exclusive series that celebrates the heritage and resources of the Dominican Republic. Crafted under the direction of Jassil Villanueva Quintana, the fifth generation of the house's master rum makers, this vintage exemplifies an innovative approach to barrel aging.
Made from molasses and distilled in a column still , this Dominican rum benefits from a special finishing process in new French oak barrels . Brugal's exclusive method involves toasting the barrels with Dominican coconut flesh, which is then removed before the rum is added. This technique, called Aromatic Cask Toasting, allows the wood to be worked with an iconic ingredient of the island, without directly adding coconut to the spirit.
