Caroni 1996 Balas Mahesh Bridgelal Employees6th release is a cuvée of molasses rum distilled at the legendary Caroni distillery. It is part of a series that pays tribute to the employees of the Trinidad distillery.
Mahesh "Sonny Black" Bridgelal is in the spotlight here. He worked for 12 years at the Caroni distillery. He was immortalized by Fredi Macarini, photographer and friend of Luca Gargano.
This molasses rum was column distilled in 1996. It is categorized as a "Heavy Rum" typical of the Caroni style.
The blend was made from 4 casks aged for 25 years in the tropical climate. They were selected on April 12, 2019 at the Caroni Ceremony, the day Luca Gargano gathered 26 rum enthusiasts to taste the last remaining casks of these rare rums.
For this edition, the angels' share is over 85%, and 689 bottles of this rum have been bottled without reduction.
