Chichibu Paris Edition 2024 Foundations 50.5°: Description and customer reviews

Since 2018, the Chichibu distillery has produced an edition of its whisky every year that it dedicates to Paris. The 2024 vintage pays tribute to the most beautiful monuments of the City of Lights and Tokyo.

For this edition, no less than six label versions have been created. The printing is done on a traditional Japanese paper, washi. The labels feature 6 emblematic monuments: the Eiffel Tower, the Arc-de-Triomphe, Notre-Dame de Paris, the Tokyo Tower, the Meiji Jingu Gate and the Kōkyo Imperial Palace. Each French monument is identified with its Japanese alter-ego.

Here the blend consists of 12 ex-bourbon casks, two quarter casks (chibidaru) and an old red wine cask. These whiskies have benefited from a maturation of six to seven years.

The labels are distributed as follows:

  • Eiffel Tower Label: Bottles No. 1 to 414
  • Tokyo Tower Label: Bottles No. 415 to 828
  • Arc-de-Triomphe label: bottles No. 829 to 1242
  • Meiji Ginju Label: Bottles No. 1243 to 1656
  • Notre-Dame de Paris label: bottles No. 1657 to 2070
  • Kōkyo Label: Bottles No. 2071 to 2484

That is 414 copies of each label.

The bottle we are offering has the number 650 and therefore represents the Tokyo Tower.
