Conde de Cuba Reserva Especial is a blend of rums aged in American oak barrels for approximately 10 years.
It embodies the Cuban tradition of light but expressive ron. Its aromatic profile combines Caribbean sweetness (honey, vanilla, fruits) with an elegant woody and spicy patina, the result of careful aging.
It is a tasting rum, ideal to enjoy neat or with a square of dark chocolate.
Jérémie's tasting notes
On the nose: one is quickly struck by the woody character, rapidly tempered by vanilla and caramel. Then come the currants, accompanied by notes of medicinal herbs and green almond.
On the palate: the attack is direct, almost sparkling in texture. It reveals aromas of cooked sugarcane and a light peppery note, before giving way to a vanilla caramel coated in honey. Notes of stewed fruit, ripe and sweet apricot and peach then appear, quite discreet, accompanied by sweet spices, cardamom, and clove.
The finish: of medium length, it lingers on a woody note brimming with cane juice, while the spices pleasantly tickle the tongue.
