Dzama Cuvée Personnelle Lucien Fohine Millésime 1984 is a tribute to the founder of the brand. Lucien Fohine was the one who, in the 1980s, sensed the potential of the distillery adjoining the Nosy-Be island sugar refinery. He developed it, then promoted his rum through the Dzama brand.
This 28 year old rum was bottled by his son Franck. Distilled in July 1984, it was bottled in November 2012, with an estimated share of angels of over 70%. The ageing took place in old whisky casks, as is the tradition at Dzama. Indeed, as a great whisky lover, Mr Fohine used to bring in casks for his own account. Naturally, he kept these empty casks to reuse them for ageing his rums.
