Engenho Da Vertente Tradicional cachaça is distilled in a tiny, traditional copper still. The cane used grows in the fields surrounding the distillery, located in the São Paulo region.
It is not filtered at all before bottling.
Nico's tasting notes
On the nose, a plump cane, swollen with sweet juice, ripe fruit and aromatics. Among the latter, velvety basil sits atop a very ripe, very sweet tomato, verging on coulis or even ketchup.
Aeration reveals a livelier side, with greener, fresher vegetation. We wander through all this greenery, passing from fruits to herbs, not forgetting a few vegetables in brine.
On the palate, cachaça has a smooth, flowing attack. It's still very green, with a slightly livelier, peppery mid-palate. At this point, the botanicals are slightly acidic, contributing to a pleasant freshness.
The finish gives way to a very fine cane, tender and mellow, with sweet cane sugar aromas.
" A genuine traditional cachaça, 100% dedicated to sugarcane, but also very sweet... "
