Gosling's Black Seal 151 proof comes direct from Bermuda.
It is a rum with a high degree of alcohol, in fact it has a strength of 75.5° , it is therefore rather recommended for tasting in cocktails even if some enthusiasts will be able to appreciate it alone.
Gosling's Black Seal products are distilled in column stills and Charentais stills. This is what gives Gosling's Black Seal 151 Proof its elegant profile.
Nico's tasting notes
The nose is very roasted, but doesn't catch the nostrils with its charcoal. On the contrary, the wood and nuts are quite soft and fatty, pleasantly dampening the rum's power. The profile is really all about nuts: crackling walnuts, still-smoking cashews, all caramelized by well-cooked molasses. Time definitely sets the rum on nougat, nougatine and toasted wood.
On the palate, the power is relentless, and the roasted notes are in tune. Roasted nuts, peanuts and molasses embrace the tongue. The wood is intense, very toasty, even charred.
The finish unfolds on the same roasted notes.
"A very roasted overproof, to give power and a good toasted side to your cocktails..."
