This single malt scotch whiskey is the work of the Highland Park distillery.
This is the Cask Strength n°3 edition. This batch presents more pronounced smoky notes than in previous editions. For this, the distillery used a greater proportion of peated malt from the Orkney Islands.
The aging of this vintage took place partly in ex-sherry American oak barrels. The other part has aged in first and second fill ex-sherry European oak barrels.
This cask strength expression is neither cold filtered nor reduced.
Jérémie's tasting notes
On the nose : woody and cereal notes mingle with aromas of orchard fruits, accompanied by a pleasant menthol freshness.
On the palate : the peat expresses itself with balance, softened by a freshness of honeyed citrus and notes of ripe fruit.
The finish : quite long, dominated by persistent smoky notes.
