Jefferson's 1785 Dark Rum is a very old brand of rum.
Produced since 1785 on the island of Antigua, Jefferson's 1785 Dark Rum reflects the British tradition by blending two highly expressive terroirs: Jamaica and Demerara in Guyana. The result is a particularly complex, well-balanced rum. Its oily texture is typical of English pot stills, giving it an assertive character.
Tasting notes
The amber color of Jefferson's 1785 Dark Rum is adorned with red flashes that testify to its maturity. In the glass, the rum reveals long legs that cling to the wall.
On the nose, dark rum exalts notes of coconut and spices (clove, licorice). There are also aromas of molasses and cut herbs.
On the palate, Jefferson's 1785 Dark Rum brings a light note of toffee, nuts and banana. This is followed by notes of dark chocolate and a slightly burnt edge.
The finish is long and warm.
