Karukera Vieux is an agricultural rum(pure cane juice) that has spent more than 3 years in casks previously filled with cognac. It is an excellent introduction to the brand's aged rums.
The Drouin family, historic producers of calvados, are entrusted with the aging of Karukera's Rhum Vieux Agricole.
Laurent's tasting notes
Its color is golden.
On the nose, the spices are striking in their intensity: nutmeg, above all, and pepper. Citrus fruits (orange and lime) somehow manage to take their place, while a slight roasted impression is present in the background.
On the palate, we find the same aromas as on the nose, with even more pepper, especially on the palate.
The finish is long and intense, with spices, orange and discreet vanilla. Karukera Rhum Vieux Agricole remains on the palate for a long time, offering good balance.

A very pretty, gourmand nose. As for the rest, it's old-fashioned gwada agricole.

Nicolas Bacquart
A very good rum with red fruit aromas, I'd even say there are hints of cherry on the palate.
