This old agricultural rum from Marie Galante crossed the Atlantic Ocean aboard the Tres Hombres, a sailboat without a motor.
It was selected by the Frères de la Côte after 4 years of tropical aging in ex-bourbon casks.
After being transferred to ex-Pineau des Charentes casks, the rum was loaded aboard the cargo ship before setting sail for a 3-month crossing.
This dynamic aging process at sea allows for continuous stirring of the rum and maximizes exchanges with the wood.
Once in the cellars of St Étienne, the rum rested for 2 months before being reduced to the traditional strength of Marie Galante.
