This old agricultural rum from Marie Galante crossed the Atlantic Ocean aboard the Tres Hombres, a sailboat without a motor.
It was selected by the Frères de la Côte after 4 years of tropical aging in ex-bourbon casks.
After being transferred to ex-Pineau des Charentes casks, the rum was loaded aboard the cargo ship before setting sail for a 3-month crossing.
This dynamic ageing at sea allows the rum to stir continuously, maximizing exchanges with the wood.
Once in the St Etienne cellars, the rum rested for 2 months before being reduced to the traditional Marie Galante degree.
