The Guadeloupean distillery Longueteau presents here the 4th batch of white rum from its Genesis vintage .
This rum is single-varietal , meaning it is produced from only one variety of sugarcane, red cane . Furthermore, it is single-plot , as this cane is grown on a single plot of land, plot number 9.
The rum rested for 2 years and a few months in a stainless steel vat after distillation in 2020. During this rest, it was regularly stirred and aerated.
The “Genesis” collection has a unique feature: all the rums are raw from distillation , whether aged or not.
Here, the 4th edition of this white rum was bottled at 73.8° .
Jérémie's tasting notes
On the nose : You can clearly smell the fresh sugarcane, notes of white flowers and discreet yellow fruits, on closer inspection you perceive some hints of fine spices, a white pepper.
On the palate : The attack is relatively soft and smooth, slightly acidic, releasing the sugarcane which coats the palate accompanied by a powdery pepperiness, all with a good warmth, the 73.4° is there! The sugarcane takes us with it for a while accompanied by a little mineral, saline side.
The finish : on the herbaceous side of the sugarcane and the peppery notes which melt into candied citrus.
