A product of the expertise of the Valera Hermanos distillery and the Panamanian terroir, Abuelo 7 ans is a blend of several aged rums scrupulously selected for their aromatic qualities. Distilled from sugar cane grown on the San Isidro hacienda, the vintages have spent long years ageing in small oak casks.
Three gold medals at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition and two other international titles attest to the quality of this extra aged rum.
Nico's tasting notes
The first scents that arrive on the nose reveal a vegetal aspect reminiscent of pipe tobacco. Typical notes of molasses and caramel follow. The nose is light and in no way aggressive. It evolves into a touch of burnt/smoked wood, which develops vanilla notes, followed by a hint of leather after a little rest.
The palate is very silky, even creamy. It feels like butterscotch melting on the tongue.
The finish is thick, like a light, clear honey. The caramel is still there, with a hint of licorice following at a distance.

This is a super rum, very smooth and mellow.
Rémy
A good product for cocktails, a little limited for tasting, but that's normal, it's not made for it.

Superb rum and excellent value for money.
