This Bielle rum was bottled by Old Brothers in collaboration with the Rhum Blanc Passion facebook group.
This Bielle white rum comes from double distillation in a Muller column and pot-still, which allows it to have the Premium designation.
When leaving the still, the cold has a temperature of 86.3°. As is customary at Bielle, a slow reduction with rainwater from Marie-Galante was carried out in order to reach 59°59.
A long resting and brewing period of no less than 18 months in stainless steel vats was carried out in order to make this rum as harmonious as possible.
This is a limited edition of just 1,750 units.
Nico's tasting notes
On the nose, the strength and uncompromising identity of Bielle white rums are evident. The dry terroir of Marie-Galante is expressed through a mineral, earthy cane juice, finely encrusted with combava zest.
A fairly long aeration allows the rum to shed its somewhat rustic, rough character, arriving at a cane with impeccable freshness and a slight hint of sea air.
The palate is both explosive and melt-in-your-mouth, like a tangy, mellow candy. The lemony cane bounces gently off the palate, imprinting oily notes of citrus peel. The rum is as suave as it is powerful, the texture quite irresistible.
The finish gives us the impression of having bitten into a cane, then chewed its sweet, peppery flesh for a long time.
"A rustic, uncompromising nose that gives way to a fabulous texture on the palate..."
