Old Brothers H 2001 is a very old brut de fût rum from Jamaica's Hampden distillery. For this single cask, the molasses was fermented for 3 weeks using indigenous yeasts. It was then distilled in one of the distillery's double-retort Caribbean pot-stills. Aging in bourbon casks took place in a tropical climate for 18 years, then in a continental climate for 1? years. A total of 4 casks and 72% angel's share led to this unique cask, bottled in 444 units.
The color is natural, so it was bottled without reduction or cold filtration. For technical details, this rum contains 2370 g/hlap of volatile substances, of which 777 are esters.
