Père Labat 50° is a white agricultural rum produced in Grand-Bourg, on the island of Marie-Galante.
The rum is made from sugar cane that is harvested mainly by hand, and transported to the distillery to extract the fresh cane juice, which ferments for 48 to 72 hours. It is distilled at 70° in columns made entirely of red copper. The low alcohol content of 70° preserves the aromas of this white rum, which is then reduced to 50°.
