Pilleur d'arômes Arrangé Orange Café is a unique arranged rum. Made entirely in France, it is based on an organic molasses rum distilled in the Cantal region of France. This base is already extremely aromatic, as it is a grand aroma rum produced by double still distillation.
To macerate this rhum arrangé, we used the auto-distillation technique. This involves hanging coffee-spiked oranges over the rum. This allows the rum to patiently express its essential oils (for almost 5 months). This maceration is carried out in dame-jeanne, using bigarade oranges from Provence and coffee from Sumatra.
Nico's tasting notes
The nose immediately takes us close to a cup of coffee, ready to be enjoyed with a little chocolate orangette. The balance is right from the start, the aromas just right and engaging. Citrus fruits bring freshness and brightness, while coffee brings comfort and depth.
The palate is equally balanced. The orange zest delivers a certain bitterness, and the café frappé is well concentrated. A certain roundness of citrus liqueur envelops the whole, suggesting that this rhum arrangé is best enjoyed chilled.
On the finish, the texture is round without being too oily. Flavors of iced coffee linger on the palate for some time.
