Pilleur d'arômes Arrangé Citron de Menton IGP Menthe Gingembre is a 100% French arranged rum. It is based on a rum produced in the Cantal region of France by the Baptiste distillery. The special feature of this rum is that it is distilled from organic molasses in a small iron still. It's a highly aromatic base, reminiscent of the old-fashioned rums known as "grands arômes".
This recipe offers a sort of "twist" on the Mojito, with a hint of ginger. The star of this maceration is the famous Indication Géographique Protégée Menton lemon. Mint and ginger add intensity to this rhum arrangé, which is best enjoyed chilled.
Nico's tasting notes
The nose is light and fresh, and will need a little time before releasing its first aromas of crumpled mint leaves, typical of the mojito. Lemon appears with an oily zest, dispensing its slightly tart bitterness. Ginger completes the picture, for an expressive, aromatic profile.
On the palate, the attack is round, quickly complemented by a slight bitterness of lemon zest. The impression of naturalness is quite striking, as the rum has captured all the sunshine contained in the citrus fruit. The ginger adds a dynamic, spicy touch.
The finish is light and vegetal, with refreshing mint leaves.
