This expression of the Prestige Cellar range launched by Planteray Rum comes from the Clarendon distillery. Founded in 1949, this Jamaican distillery has two pot stills. A “Vendôme” with a capacity of 20,000 liters installed in 1998 and a second of Indian origin with a capacity of 25,000 liters installed in 2009.
This selection from the 2024 Foundations catalog is from the 2001 vintage. It displays the MLC marks for “Monymusk Light Continental” with an ester content of 490 g/hlap.
Following a double distillation in a double-retort pot still, the rum aged for 18 years in bourbon barrels in a tropical climate. It then benefited from a 5-year refinement in cognac barrels in the cellars of Maison Ferrand.
Bottling in 2024 produced just over 300 bottles.
